Jack Johnson tickets.Work out early Pub Crawl. Bimbo's for cheap pizza, brunswick st. Nap. Show in Richmond, etc. St Jeromes, transit, hostel roof. Graffiti
I'm starting from Thursday, because i cannot remember anything significant before then and because my travel journal is downstairs and i can't just abandon my make-shift desk here in the middle of the common room. Work was a blast, only had to work for two and a half hours and we were paid for 4 and a half. I keep promising myself to bring my camera to take a picture of the view, of the bay and the many sailboats.
I got out early and had a gigantic veggie burger, a gift from Kat. Had a couple beers before leaving to catch up with the few of them that went on the first just in time for the second. It was at the purple emerald, a jazz bar, but the music is never really that good to be honest. I was feeling really tired and not in the mood, which seems to be the case lately. We went to the Lion in Melbourne central ( it's a mall? that has a huge movie theatre and a few bars and such ). I wasn't really feeling it and was the downer without a drink most of the time, until the end i had a better time but nothing too fantastic.
I got home pretty late that night and didn't sleep until early morning, then woke up fairly early so i wasn't as full of energy as usual( not like there's a lot anyway). I was struggling with alien rib cramps most of the morning, and then i kicked it into gear and went to Fitzroy with kat, andrew, welsh andrew, michael, ryce ( said reese, like the chocolate ), leah, and me! Real cool up there, lots of great places to eat and some cute shops. We ate at this place Bimbo's, their 'logo' i guess you could say, is a naked baby doll...it would be twisted except they make it okay. The reason we trekked all the way out there is because you get a pizza, gourmet, for 4 dollars ( which is oh-my-fucking-god good in melbourne, because food is freaking expensive ). I got this 3 cheese and cherry tomato pizza, it was fantastic and filling. Cam, who lives in the area works at reception, had this sixth sense that we might be inside and dropped by. After passing out in the restaurant, i woke up and they had ordered desert pizza's. An apple cinnamon one, and a decadent chocolate one.
We gandered through the shops, even though most of themw ere closed due to it being good friday.
Went back to my room and took a nap, one of those feels like 15 minutes, was 2 hours in reality. I woke up, and planned on having an easy night until Kat reminded me of the show in Richmond I wanted to go to. Had some coffee, and was on my way. Me, Kat, and Kate went with Paul from reception also, who was the one that told us about the show - he's friends with the band.
Took a cab out there. I was feeling cruddy from drinking the night before, so i drank really slow at first. Wine. Guinness....Sambuca? Moooree beer.
We missed most of the bands set, which i now regret because i really, really enjoyed it. They were like folk, rock. The lead singer, who is a well known actor ( in the new series The Pacific directed by spielburg, and was the druggy like guy in Candy) Tom something, was so energetic and fun. The only annoying part of the evening was, there was this american guy sitting across from me ( one of pauls friends friend ) that looked ridiculously framilliar. Drove me insane all night, he was in Night at the Museum, but that wasnt what i was thinking of. It wasn't until later I IMDB'd him, he's the friend in the sitcom War At Home.
We were getting kicked out of the pub so we and a few of Paul's friends went back to his house, not too far away. It was nice being in a residence, instead of a hostel. He lives with another guy Justin above a bar. We had some beer, listened to music, watched some classic english comedy, and then around 5:30 in the morning when they put on Bourne Ultimatum I passed out, running on less than 5 hours of sleep, i was dead.
AND I saw my first spider in australia! We were sitting watching that english comedy, and im laying on kat, half asleep when she casually says ' what's that on the wall', i think ' the wall? what the wall in the movie? nothing...books' and then kate screams. I look at the wall behind the tv and a huntsman spider is booking it across the white wall. It was horrific. I jumped up like a child and dashed across the room clutching kate and screaming whenever one of them threatened to put it near me. It was bad.
In the morning, while trying to leave, Kat snuck downstairs and accidentally set off the alarm for the bar. It was really fucking loud, and hilarious as she snuck back up stairs panicking.
Kate, Paul and I walked back to the hostel around 11. He was suppose to work but got side-tracked by mcdonalds, and then a pint which turned into two. We were at transport and I stuck around with them for a while...sipping my dainty cranberry juice and lemon water. A bar breakfast of BBQ chips. I got annoyed by their inappropriate discusions ( because two very young children were sitting only feet away ) and walked back to the hostel. Made my self some delicious pasta, which I am going to eat again for dinner tonight. It's the backpacker way.
Kat came and found me around 6, apparently Kate and Paul were at St. Jeromes now, and had been drinking ever since i left them at 1. We went over there with Welsh Andrew for a beer. I think like 90% of people living in Melbourne smoke, it's insane, that' probably why outdoor seating is preferred.
I was dead the rest of the night, very tired and not in the mood to drink. We had a sort of easter party here, they bought tons of alcohol and made a disgusting punch, which i could only sip once. I retired to bed quite early late 12.
Today I woke up and had to deal with bullshit drama. Had breakfast/lunch with Ryse and Michael at Lord of the Fries, discovered that theyre poutine has 100% veg, very fucking exciting. They call it 'french canadian; poutine' fries. Home! I got italian i think? It was cheese and a tomato pasta sauce.
Then we picked up Charlie and went on a graffiti tour, lead by michael. There is some really great laneways. We had smoothies at this one place, cant remember the name, but everything is very fresh and they had a lot of quick vegetarian options. PLUS!

Charlie sipping a berry smoothy at this great fresh place we found walking back.
I've never noticed this building, it's so close to where i live/stay/whatever.
I'm sure someone has spent an night or two in here, doing things of the illegal kind.

Deeeeep?Andrew was holding the camera, pretending to be a hxc professsional photographer and getting a real reaction and emotion out of me. This is a picture of me after he asked me ' think of your worst sexual experience' and i'm thinking of it.
