coulda, woulda, shoulda...

...but then again, I am here! And my departure date continues to be pushed back. I know I know, before i left it seemed like everyone around me doubted my return. I am coming back, it's just it's no longer in june, maybe in august, most likely sometime in October...November? I feel like leaving now would be a mistake, and I should suck the bone dry.

I've been working more. Keeping busy, and that is keeping me sane now that i have approached the 100th day living in a hostel. Crawling up the walls, need to get out. And that's what I am planning on.
Thursday night i managed to escape the greenhouse vortex and had dinner at this vegetarian Mexican place with Paul in Fitzroy. Watched Ramsey and Aussie trash with a bottle of red. Woke up with wine lips, again. I have to stop making it a habit.
Friday night we had planned on all going out, but like usual, things came back and it was pushed till saturday, that's alright though. Had a nice night in, watching tv, hanging out on the roof, and reading for hours in bed. Sounds boring, but it's nice after a full week of work and going to bed extremely early in preparation for your 6 am wake up. And I also made Harrison take me out on a date to go to dinner, and food is always fun!
I had the sniffles all day Saturday, and I haven't seen it rain for that long in a while. The only real trip i made outside was to Coles because living on dull rice wasn't satisfying me anymore. Did some more looking for a flat, and after we got a misleading message from Adrian us ladies started to get dressed and hit the roof.
We drank and hung out, had a lot of laughs for a few hours. We were very indecisive about where to go, but i insisted on somewhere new because we usually go the regular ol' joints. A good group were at St.Jeromes which is a real neat place to just hang out and drink. First we tried Cookie, which i've heard many raving reviews from friends and coworkers, and strangers. We got to the bouncer and he awared us there was a band that required tickets, so we dumbed that idea and me, Duffy, Claire, and Sorcha took Adrian up on going to Eurotrash.
highlight of the night; Adrian ( 28) was ID'd, and I wasn't.
It was different, good. Not exactly me, but still a good time. When you first walk in it seems like it's just one room, cool decor, unfriendly bartenders ( atleast on that floor ). We stuck around for a bit, until we were lead through this maze of a place. Down some random hallway we found stairs, bringing us to an awkward 'outdoor' area where you could smoke. They really take advantage of space in Melbourne. Through one door you entered a limbo hallway which forced you into this soundproof dancefloor room, where they have featured DJ's. It was in this room that the crowd seemed very drunk, and had nice bartenders.
Back in the awkward smoke area, there was a blocked off set of stairs that lead to a VIP room. Another was this hallway that seemed like a dead end, when it really lead this relaxed, futuristic room with a projection screen ( with charlie chaplin ) and a big comfy bed in the corner.
We had a good night. Got very drunk. Walking home was hilarious, I was trying to strut ( i know, i know, it comes naturally ) but i was having difficulties looking good whilst walking crooked. Got back to the hostel and all of us devoured sandwiches and bated time until bed.

The following day, i went out with Duffy and had lunch and coffee on the Yarra with her. It was lovely, and i hope our Sunday dates turn into a regular thing. Went out for drinks with Harrison later that night and walked along the yarra. Yarra yarra yarra!

This weekend we're going out for dinner to celebrate Adrian's new job, then going out for drinks with the whole lot.
I'm really glad that i have a good group of friends right now, if i didn't i think i would be going insane. Being in our room is duffy, harrison, and claire and it's like a big family- we get on so well, and i'm hoping we find a flat together as soon as possible. We all need it, badly.
